Umesh Chandra Bhattacharya

Umesh Chandra Bhattacharya was a revolutionary freedom fighter of India. He was born on 12.04.1916 at Ramsitapara, Nabadwip, Nadia, West Bengal. He was son of Kedarnath Bhattacharya. In March 1933, he was arrested in connection with Nabadwip Arms seizure Case, and subsequently sentenced to undergo 6 years prison term and deported to Andamans jail. He participated there in the second hunger strike. He was repatriated in 1937, and ultimately released in September 1939. His total jail period was 6 years.
