Unyoro

Unyoro, modern name Bunyoro, was a native State of Central Africa from 16th century-1894, between Lake Albert Nyanza and the territory of Uganda. In 1896 a British protectorate was established over Unyoro. The traditional kingdom was abolished in 1967. However, Bunyoro was re-established in 1993. It is currently a traditional Bantu kingdom a non-sovereign traditional monarchy within Uganda.
