Vicenza

Vicenza is a city in the North-East of Italy, in a province of the name, bordering on the Tyrol, 42 miles West of Venice. It has fine palaces designed by Palladio, a native of the place. It traditionally manufactures woollen and silk fabrics, and wooden wares. It was a place of some importance under the Lombards.
