Yamuna

Yamuna is a river in India originating from Yamunotri in Uttarakhand and terminating at Prayag as tributary of Ganga in Uttar Pradesh.

It is the chief affluent of the Ganges. Many important places including Delhi and Agra are situated on its banks. Its course is 860 m., and it falls over 10,000 ft.

Its waters are used for irrigation by means of canals, being of little use for navigation. From Delhi onwards, the stream is much polluted.
