Zamora

Zamora was an ancient town of Spain, on the right bank of the Douro, 150 miles North-West of Madrid. It is now in a decayed state, but was a flourishing place in Moorish times. The present city of the same name contains interesting ruins of the old town. It manufactures linens and woollens, and trades in wine and fruits.
