It is most likely that this time too, women candidates vying for party tickets for the next assembly elections are sceptical and have alleged men-folklores for not giving tickets to the women and have virtually stonewalled their chances.
However, Congress President Sonia Gandhi has categorically told election screening committee members that favourable representation should be given to women while deciding party tickets so that a new beginning can be made.
Contrary to her assertion the screening committee has decided to give party tickets to only five women candidates in each state, sources added.
Interestingly, the women party-ticket seekers from the all the states which are going to polls are planning to meet Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi and convey their anguish against party's wilful decision.#
