The distressed farmers have been running from pillar to post but nothing has been done for their payment. Mr Yadav , a former union minister and five times MP from Bihar, said in his letter written on April 21 that a large number of farmers were forced to sell their produce to private traders who also have failed to pay up their dues.

Alleging serious irregularities even on the subsidy on purchase of seeds by farmers, Mr Yadav said the farmers of the state were on the receiving end this year because of low yield this year.

The drought like situation is creating further problems for the people of Bihar. Not just the irrigation channels have dried up, there is even the scarcity of drinking water.

In a situation like this, it is the bounded duty of the Bihar Government to come in aid of the farmers and the people of Bihar without any delay. (ends)
