BSP has taken lead in distributing tickets to party candidates for almost all the assembly seats much in advance. While other political parties busy in finalising the list of candidates, BSP candidates are busy in campaign and meeting the public.

It must be noted that there has not been any announcement regarding the list, which is anyway being frequently changed.

BSP is all set to play the aggressive Muslim card while giving a good number of seats to minority community, while at the at the same time, keeping Brahmins in good humour. BSP supremo, who spends most of the time in New Delhi, rushed to Lucknow and spent a good number of days here to supervise preparations for Mission 2017.

Mayawati addressed series of meeting party leaders, district and city office-bearers and party coordinators who play very important role in the party. There have been several changes in party set up giving importance to who deliver and sideling to non-performers.

Mayawati is in touch with different groups and castes through her trusted lieutenants who organize Bhai Chara meeting at regular intervals. Mr Satish Chandra Mishra MP is BSP’s Brahmin face while Mr Nassimuddin Sidiqui is busy wooing the Muslims. Mayawati is also working on bringing the OBCs and MBCs to party fold.

At the same time, Mayawati is also unnerved by the sincere efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make inroads in Dalit voters throughout the country.

PM Modi has not only visited all the important centres of Dalit icons and addressed the series of meetings of Dalits but also promised to create jobs and provide opportunity to set up business to Dalit community.

On the other hand, the Congress party under the leadership of vice-present Rahul Gandhi is making efforts to win back its traditional Dalit voters from BSP and other parties. So much so Congress organised Dalit conclave which was attended by Dalit leaders all over the state. Rahul Gandhi promised to create Dalit leadership in Congress Party.

So much so ruling Samajwadi Party is also busy in wooing the Dalits into party fold. Samajwadi Party chief minister Akhilesh Yadav also announced big statue of Dr BR Ambedkar and creation of jobs for dalits and Assured full protection to them.

Mayawati knows that never before her political rivals were so serious to make inroads into her vote bank to capture power in 2017.

That is why Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati is more aggressive in launching attack on her rivals including BJP, Congress and Samajwadi Party.

Mayawati attacked PM Modi for his recent Stand-Up scheme of providing jobs to Dalits. It would be worth mentioning here that PM Modi not only paraded Dalit MPs from the party on the platform but also launched the Stand-Up India programme of providing jobs and business opportunities to Dalits.

Mayawati said the Stand-Up India scheme launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on was a political gimmick.“If the PM is concerned about the welfare of the scheduled castes and schedule tribes, he should fill up the reserved posts lying vacant in government departments on priority basis. The contracts floated by the government departments should also be reserved for the Dalits,” she said in a statement.

“The NDA government has lost the confidence of the people due to a casteist and communal agenda. To divert the attention of the people, the government is resorting to political drama and schemes like Stand Up India,” Mayawati claimed.

Mayawati is also worried from the efforts of PM Modi to woo Dalits as he was able to wean away a large number of Dalits from BSP who voted for BJP candidates in 2014 Lok Sabha polls.

In order to project BJP as anti-Dalit Mayawati adopted aggressive postures on Rohith Vemula and demanded action against central minister.

Despite having formed government in UP with the support of BJP Mayawati is busy in launching attack on Congress and Samajwadi party for ignoring Muslims.

Mayawati has levelled serious charge against Akhilesh Yadav government and Samajwadi Party for joining hand with BJP. She also claimed that during her regime Muslims felt more secured as there was no communal riots during that period.

She also blamed Justice Vishnu Sahai commission report for not indicting any BJP leader in Muzaffarnagar communal riots where a large number of Muslims were killed and thousands rendered homeless.

Mayawati has been making similar charges against Congress also for hobnobbing with BJP all through and ignoring problems of Muslim community. She blamed rival political parties for making Muslim as vote bank only while she promised share in power.

In order to retain her Dalit support Mayawati, during her speech in Parliament on 125th birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar promised to revive quota for members of scheduled caste and scheduled tribe in promotion.

In order to consolidate her support in different sections of the society, Mayawati has promised 10 per cent reservation to poorer persons from upper caste.

Mayawati launched her election campaign from massive show of strength on 125th birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar in Lucknow when she addressed party rally and claimed that people were fed up with the Akhilesh Yadav government which is responsible for total collapse of law and order. She promised to restore rule of law in the state. (IPA Service)
