The State has a significant role in designing the new role of development in last decade, in terms of manufacturing and has been able to break the stranglehold of the other States. It is only due to the reflection of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan and his ideas. Mr. Chouhan has spoke always about the steps taken by his government to ease business in several international and national forums. In such platforms, Mr. Chauhan is highlighting healthy trend of State’s economic growth and prosperity that will not just benefit one state, but others too.

Mr. Chauhan is reaching out to investors in India and abroad, by emphasizing a number of logistical steps– that was taken in order to make investor summit more effective. In the last one decade, several schemes and policies have been carved out in favour of its people. Surprisingly, during the last ten years, the industrial sector’s compound annual growth rate on current prices has been 15 per cent and service sector grew at the rate of 16 per cent.

The State is able to showcase towns beyond the capitals or major cities of state, as this will boost awareness about lesser known towns within MP that have potential, improving infrastructure and making growth more equitable. Moreover, two- international airports, three domestic airports and six small airports spread across the State, top-ranked and high-speed road, rail and broadband networks and 425 trains transit almost on a daily basis and a land bank of over 25,000 hectares are a number of reasons to organize a Global Investor Summit.

The State has skilled hands to offer for the Industries. Started by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, as many as 40 lakh persons will be trained in the next few years under the Madhya Pradesh Skill Development Mission. A capital fund of Rs 100 crores has been established for those people who are coming with innovative ideas of start-ups.

Madhya Pradesh is now a power surplus state. At present, 17,169 MW power is available, while it is estimated that power generation capacity will be increased to 22,000 MW by 2022. The State provides 24 hour power supply to industries and other consumers. MP is one of the strongest brands in the country and in Asia, because of the natural resources, markets, efficiency and strategic assets.

The state is extensively working on developing 18 new Industrial Areas, 3 IT Parks, and upgrading 13 existing Industrial Areas. Madhya Pradesh, being an agrarian economy, has achieved exceptional feat in agriculture development in the past 10 years. MP has the excellent performance in agriculture — the agri-GDP of MP grew at 9.7 per cent per annum during 2005-06 to 2014-15, surpassing even record-holder Gujarat’s 7.7 per cent. The last five years have been even more spectacular: The agri-GDP grew at 14.2 per cent per annum. MP has got the Krishi Karman Award from the president three times in the last five years.

Still, Chauhan is exploring the possibility to reach out to small and midsize investors, in India and overseas, who are overshadowed by the big names at summits. “Arise, awake and arrive in the land of prosperity, settling in tranquility. Welcome to rising Madhya Pradesh, become an entrepreneur, share with us ideas and stories to move and lead State to the path of development,” says Shivraj Singh Chauhan.

The State is emerging as one of the top hubs for innovation and excellence by becoming an integral part of India’s ecosystem and an important engine for economic growth in the country.

In the upcoming GIS, about 3000 representatives from country and abroad will participate in Indore on October 22 and 23.
