According to a statement issued by CPI today, the well-known political activists who belong to CPI and the CPI (M) are the victims of police brutality in Chhattisgarh. Now the police targeted the renowned scholars of Delhi University and JNU Nandini Sunder, Archana Prasad and a prominent activist of Joshi-Adhikari Institute Vineet Tiwari and others. They have been booked under various sections of IPC and they are falsely implicated.
While condemning the police brutality and excesses in Chhattisgarh, the CPI urged upon the State government of Chhattisgarh to immediately withdraw the FIR against the scholars and activists and stop the attacks on the tribal people.
