According to the CPI, though the PM has talked of the pains of demonetisation, he has no proposal to redress the difficulties of the people. There is no assessment of the black money and fake currency that was supposedly the main target for demonetisation. Overall, the statement points out, the budget reflects the casual approach of the Narendra Modi government on the crisis ridden economy of India.

NEW DELHI: The central secretariat of the Communist Party of India (CPI) has strongly criticized the budget presented by Arun Jaitley today by terming it as anti-people and pro-corporate. Further, the budget gives no concessions to the farmers who are burdened with huge loans and are committing suicide.
