It may be worth mentioning that the present 14th Lok Sabha will expire later in May 2009.
A senior leader of RJD, a main constituent of the UPA government, has said that advancing elections is not a prudent decision. He further added that last time also NDA government has held election ahead of six months but it failed to gain.
Supporting this view, a long time political watcher said that the government attempt to held elections in the month of February will not yield much dividend because inflation is still in the higher side and will take further time to cool off.
Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi is also not interested to hold elections ahead of the scheduled time, a senior congressman said.
Infact, she has asked some members of the party to concentrate on dousing the flames of inflation and work to build on the success of the policies which the UPA government has brought about.
The anxiety in holding elections before the scheduled time will be counter productive, said LJP leader and added that the all supporting parties should be taken into confidence before deciding on the issue.
However, he warned congress party for ignoring any allies and take any haste decision.#

New Delhi: A section of the congress leaders feels that general election to the 15th Lok Sabha should be held in the month of February ahead of scheduled date. However, defying all logic, the UPA partners are in no mood to oblige this section and instead insist on poll to be held in April 2009.
