The NaMo strategists were extra careful in playing up the disapproval of Pakistan designs of keeping terrorists alive in India by Saudi Arabian regime in addition to the American disapproval. For the first time, Saudi disapproval was played up in visible manners to ensure that Indian Muslim mind is not distracted by the events since the Pulwama mishap.

The heavy float on messages on social media as well as play up in the visual media with anchors of different visual media networks exerting their skills to establish unique nature and quality of the surgical strike may suggest that the surgical strike may function as the chemical catalyst as the offer of dignity had worked in the last election to give unprecedented electoral advantage to NaMo. The surgical strike, the move that NaMo had kept a closely guarded secret even from his cabinet colleagues, may help to consolidate his hold over the urban middle class. But there is always a wide gap between what is planned and what is ultimately achieved. This doubt arises as the responses of the urban and the rural populations always differ because their lives are contrasting.

The clarification by the union minister Nitin Gadkari and that too without enough provocation for it that neither has he aspired nor the Sangh has conspired to bring about a leadership change clearly raises a doubt whether the Surgical Strike was aimed at the Islamabad or the Nagpur establishment. The Gadkari explanation merely confirms that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi would gain lead the BJP in the election already on. The Surgical strike feels the vacuum of chemistry in the electoral process to add to his advantage of being the only towaring political personality with no challenge visible to it.

The masses are concerned more with their daily bread and butter. For them, national pride at the successful operations against the enemy is of no relevance or of beneficial consequence to their life. The cost of such operations ultimately results in diversion of development funds away from them. Jobs that give them power and ability to buy their daily bread, realization of promised returns for their agricultural produce gained after their hard labour are more consequential issues.

For ages, wars and violent conflicts with nations or among nations have always brought more difficulties to poor though they may have resulted in adding more wealth to the rich. The Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had faced state assembly polls in nine states immediately after the decisive war of December 1971 but she had failed to sweep polls and to manage with bare majority in six of them. The Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee faced the Lok Sabha polls within three months of the successful Kargil conflict and had yet failed to gain electoral advantage. Compared to those conflicts in open view of media and world, the surgical strike was an operation in cover of darkness. The success is in measure of the government claims. That too not at Pakistan but against terrorism bred in Pakistan. The claims have certainly put the middle class mind ablaze with surges of pride.

The promise of rapid economic development in the last election had sent hopes and aspirations of even poor who had undergone and social and psychological transformation since 1991. In his promise in the last election was an element of dignity for all, particularly for poor with jobs. It was a hope of personal gain. This strike provides an element of pride for the class that has been a traditional voter of the party that Narendra Modi belongs to. In any case, the surge of pride remains confined to 25 percent of electorate. NaMo is a Gujarati Vania even though he claims to be OBC. He will act only after his mathematics suggests advantages.

His primary need was to lead the party. He has successfully ensured it. Gadkari confirmed it with his clarification though he was silent over the speculations for three months before the surgical strike. It is no mean advantage as his move has mesmerized and pushed his opponents inside and outside his party in total confusion. For they cannot fathom out what NaMo has struck at.
