The above observation is made by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. Chhattisgarh is the state where the BJP was badly defeated by Congress in the last assembly elections held last year. Congress won by two-thirds majority and ousted the BJP after a period of 15 years. Bhupesh Baghel had strengthened the Congress organizationally to oust the BJP from the state's power. Bhupesh Baghel, sharing his views on the development of the current politics, elections and issues of Chhattisgarh, said that the BJP has brought a decline in the politics. He sidelined the senior leaders of his party. Instead of contesting elections in the name of development undertaken by its government in the last 5 years, BJP preferred to go to the polls in the name of nationalism. The public has denied its nationalism and the BJP will be ousted from the power of the Centre.

Bhupesh Baghel on the issue of nomination of Pragya Thakur, BJP candidate from Bhopal stated that the behaviour of Pragya Thakur has been that of habitual criminals. Presently she is an accused of terrorist activities, but even before that when she was living in Chhattisgarh, she had attacked a person with a knife. Pragyas’ candidature shows the level of decline in the politics of BJP. Making Pragya a candidate for the Lok Sabha election, reflects BJP's ideology.

He also hit on the failure of the NDA government led by the Modi in the last five years. He raised the issue that in this election, where did various schemes like Digital India, Skill India, Start up has gone away? Why the BJP did not talk about them? The country had suffered huge losses due to the demonetization. Demonetization is a big scam. The complaint was made in Gujarat about the issue of changing old notes but no enquiry was probed into the matter. The trader got upset with GST. Gujarat's development model is an illusion. Unemployment in the country is at its peak. The general public is plagued by inflation. The thoughts of the common man are not reflected in the media.

Mr. Baghel said that the Prime Minister Modi and Amit Shah has referred to the Opposition as a “mahamilavati adulterated” alliance. But everyone saw that the faces of 41 parties were visible in Narendra Modi's nomination in Varanasi. Modi tried to present himself as common man by identifying himself as Pichda Modi (backward community Modi), Chaiwala Modi, Fakir Modi, Chowkidar Modi. But now the people are aware about the reality of this Chowkidar.

Mr. Baghel said that before Chhattisgarh assembly elections, the voters were informed about the failures of not only that of Raman’s government but also that of the Modi government, due to which the party in power BJP got reduced to 15 seats. Even in this Lok Sabha election, Congress has told the people of the state that the policies of the Central Government have ruined the general public. In this election, the Congress has done a great job in Chhattisgarh.

Recalling the Naxalite attack in Jhiram Valley, he said that senior Congress leaders were killed in it. The NIA is investigating the matter, but the Congress is not satisfied with the investigations. We are seeking investigations reports from them and will involve SIT to probe into it. We feel that the BJP was involved in that incident. Even in the case of Antagarh Tape Case, the present government has registered an FIR. The investigation is going on. Investigation of Nan Scam for Rs. 36,000 crore is also being done speedily. All these cases are being investigated to reinforce law and not to take revenge.

Mr. Baghel said that the previous government promoted the Naxalite problem. Before the BJP government, there were Naxalite problems only in four blocks of Chhattisgarh, but at present, 14 districts are battling with the issue of Naxalitism. The present government wants to step forwards towards resolving the Naxal problem. The government has taken several initiatives to win the confidence of tribal - Forest Rights Act is being implemented in a better way, the land acquired by the TATA was returned to the tribals, the rate of Tendu leaf collection has been increased. Tribal dominated districts will be developed to improve the living standards of tribal communities. He said that the development of Chhattisgarh will be done in such a way that the weak and marginalized people will be benefitted. (IPA Service)
