It is despite the BJP and its affiliated Hindu religious outfits preparing to take up the cudgel on behalf of Sadhvi Pragya Thakur, accused in Malegaon blast case. They have already decided to launch a frontal attack on the Congress Party over the Hindu terrorism issue.
``The uneasiness in the BJP camp is evident from the fact that its own members are directly involved in the whole act of terror,' said a Senior Congress leader and AICC General Secretary.
However, the Congress think tank believes that BJP's plan to effect polarization on the communal lines will back fire, because Hindus in general are not communal in nature and these communal elements are bringing bad names to the whole Hindu community for their petty political gains, avers another senior congress leader.
Meanwhile, the party sources said that Congress is also planning to hold a conference of Hindu saints (Sadhus) soon to counter the saffron onslaught.
``Terrorists do not subscribe to any religion,' said a senior congress leader and added that BJP's charge against the Congress that Hindu terrorism is a phrase coined by the Congress party is baseless as the party don't believe in branding any religion as terrorists.#
