Most students named Taj Mahal as the greatest symbol of love in answer to the teacher’s question. Only one student claimed it to be the Ram Setu that monkeys had built, as is mentioned in the great epic Ramayana, for Ram to go to Lanka to bring back his beloved Seeta from the captivity of the demon king Ravana. Teacher told other students to study their history books again. This story is an example of attempts to obliterate in young minds difference between reality and imaginary belief. It is not official but put out by the group that claims loyalty to the new regime.

Indian sages gave incomparable wisdom based on science through their works such as Vedas, Vedants, Upnishads, Brahmans, Aranyakas. As the Italian Indologist Roberto Caliso says, India had truly democratic and tolerant essence to allow the extremely opposite and contrary views and ideas to prosper at the same time. The Ramayana is a great work relating to an era 3550 years ago, according to some scholars. It hints at existence of monkeys, not fully formed humans, but capable of performing all activities like humans, in southern parts of India. They became the army for Ram in search of his wife Seeta abducted few years earlier. Monkeys also help him with construction of a bridge known as Ram Setu to cross the stormy sea channel. If it was possible then to construct a 40 mile long bridge in the rough sea where and why did the technique disappear?

Traces are found in Mohenjo Daro, Harappa and Lothal to indicate existence of the civilization that had perfected the art of construction for houses and acquired the capacity for planned townships that too before the Aryan invasion but no similar traces are found in other locales of the era following disappearance of the Indus Valley civilization. More important issue is why the Aryans did not learn from the capacities on display of older civilization?

The Maha Bharat saga of people 550 years after the times of the Ramayana is a great story with parts that remain beyond belief, particularly the narration of the Great War of 18 days that ended in annihilation of 18 Ackshouni fighters. Only six survived the 18 days of war, five Pandav brothers and Krishna. In Mahabharat, Bhishma, chief of the Kaurav army is credited to have killed 90,000 fighters in ten days of his stewardship. It means he killed on average nine thousand humans a day with his arrows in 12 hours from Sunrise to Sunset every day. It works out to be 750 per hour and 12.5 per minute that too by his arrows. It remains unbelievable feat. But it also conveys to be an imaginary story. Researchers from America claim that the last chapter known as Shanti Parv was added after the emergence and acceptance of Buuddhism in third century BC.

Now young in India are told to believe such episodes as the real part of the Indian history. No one objected to its depiction as the television series in 1987. Entire India including all Muslim families were in front of their television sets every Sunday morning. That did not make it a reality. But messages on social media now tend to make youngsters to believe it as a part of history, a reality.

The Indian literature confirms that wisdom of Indians, Even Greek, Latin and Roman sages had acknowledged the Indian wisdom that reached them through the Middle East civilization. They could learn not only Alphabets but also numerical that India gave them with idea of mathematics through discovery of zero. From Max Mueller to others researcher had derided the Indian Vedic wisdom but now new generation recognizes it as great knowledge of basic science though not expressed in modern terms. Rites were not mumbo jumbo but had scientific element in them.

Mind seeks answer to one related question as to only why Ram is chosen to be worthy of veneration trend even though Krishna was also incarnation of the God Vishnu and had played a vital role in strife between two clans. Was it because he is depicted to have been born as Yadav and not Kshatriya as Ram was depicted to be. Both deserve equal status and veneration if the idea behind projecting Ram is purely the revival of old religion?

Instead of carrying forward the great Indian wisdom, Indian youth is now being taught to worship it. How can life be static? Educated young Indians have given evidence of their immeasurable capacity to further aid modern life. Indians working in Silicon Valley have given enough evidence. Indians in America manage their science, space programme, their medical service and even their vehicular transmission needs. New regime in India wants them to go back to the lost era by emulating the past.

In essence, most universities have largest numbers of Indians among their student community. Can they be pushed back to live in the era passed by under the belief that it was the glorious era? Glory for every human being is in his future. It is the only way civilizations have progressed. Indians did not remain stuck in Harappa. They did move out to give the world new inventions in the communication sector to change the world structure and convert it to be one village without borders inhibiting their contact with each other. Similarly ideas have to fly and cannot be stuck to the imaginary bridges.
