The central government is serious on creation of a Fedral Agency system in India, however, diverse views are aldready being heard not only from the main opposition parties but also from the Congress ruled Chief Ministers. They are sceptic about its effectiveness an use.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had recently said that Fedral Agency will be another tool in the hands of the central government to persecute opposition parties and this will also meet the same fate as POTA.
The principal oppostion party, BJP, has also not ruled out the possibility of its misuse by the central government to stiffle opposition parties. It will serve no purpose untill it's laced with POTA, thinks the BJP.
Center's initiative has taken a beating by its own party as a Congress ruled state Chief Minister, who don't wish to be identified, has said that Fedral Agency will serve little and will meet the same fate in the lines of POTA. Its objectives in defeating nefarious design of terrorist activities wouldn't be achieved, he said.
Acccording to highly placed sources in the Ministry of Home, the opposition towards the Fedral Agency is not only coming from the political parties but also from the buraucratic circles.#
