Much significance is attached to recent meeting of former minister and national president of Suheldev Bharat Samaj Party On Prakash Rajbhar with Mulayam Singh Yadav. After the meeting Omprakash Rajbhar said that he was satisfied with his meeting with Mulayam Singh Yadav on the need to form alliance of backwards dalits and minorities to face the elections. Rajbhar further said that Mulayam Singh Yadav promised his commitment to form an alliance at the earliest.
It may be noted that Om Prakash Rajbhar was in touch with Congress in the past for an alliance.
Omprakash Rajbhar was cabinet minister in Yogi Government and was member of NDA. Some of his party leaders were accommodated in the government also. But Rajbhar demanded more seats than BJP high command could yield.
Om Prakash Rajbhar had been fighting with successive governments for trifurcation on OBC quota for reservation. He wants that the quota for OBC be further divided in three parts to accommodate most backward and extreme backwards. He charged that maximum benefit of reservation was going to powerful OBC. Rajbhar was sacked from minister after 2017 assembly polls. Since then, he has been raising demands for most backwards.
It would be worth mentioning here that Omprakash Rajbhar has good influence in eastern UP and in alliance with a powerful party he can be game changer. Significantly enough Om Prakash Rajbhar recently met Chandrasekhar Ravan of Bhim Army which has tremendous influence over dalits in western UP. Ravan belongs to same caste that of BSP national President Mayawati that is why BSP is scared of his growing popularity. He demonstrated his hold over dalits of western UP with the help of minorities through series of demonstration at Jantar Manter, New Delhi.
Unlike Mayawati who is inaccessible to her party leaders and workers Chandrasekhar Ravan is always surrounded by party workers. Chandrasekhar Ravan has political ambition and is keen to announce formation of a political party later this month. His March at Jama-masjid Delhi was quite impressive due to massive participation of dalits.
Former minister Babu Singh Kushwaha who had been be very close to Mayawati formed Jan Adhikar Party and demonstrated his influence through well attended meetings of Kushwaha backward community in various districts
Since Samajwadi Party is main opposition Party in the state, all smaller groups and parties opposed to politics of BJP, are looking toward big coalition.
Akhilesh Yadav is promoting large scale induction and merger of individuals and groups from different parties mainly from BSP.
There is a great amount of demoralisation in minorities over CAA and NRC and similar issues. They are also looking toward Akhilesh Yadav provided he takes initiative to come out of his comfort zone to take on BJP on streets and collaborate with smaller parties. (IPA Service)
