The official spokesperson of the government commented that the state government would like to continue the lockdown even if there was a single case of coronavirus.
Of the total number of cases at 309,almost half are due to Tablighi Jamaat and their associated members, who attended the Nizamuddin Markaz at Delhi during the second week of March.
State government officials feel that the situation of Coronavirus cases was not that bad but for the sharp increase due to influx of those attending the Tablighi Jamaat meet last month.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Yogi Adiyanath got in touch with his ministers and other important persons and sought their opinion on whether to continue the lockdown or lift it in phases.
Chief Minister Yogi Adiyanath also held meetings with group of officers who were assigned the task of suggesting ways to lift the lockdown.
Meanwhile, the opposition demanded from government to make arrangements for proper testings and creation of more infrastructure in hospitals.

LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh government has hinted on extending the lockdown in view of the rise in coronavirus-positive cases in the state.
