The results are severe blow to the BJP as it had major stakes in these election as compared to the Indian National Congress.
As it was expected, Bahujan Samaj Party in all four states indeed made major strides and cornered considerable chunk of the vote share. However, it failed to convert the gains into winning a considerable number of seats. BSP, therefore, can still be look upon as spoiler.
Results in all the states signals positive vote and vote for development and the negative sentiments have been vehemently rejected by the voters in all the five states.
According to some political watchers, the results of the elections in these states are, in a way, reflect defeat of 'divisive' politics launched by Bhartiya Janta Party.
It is to be kept in mind that the assembly elections are always fought on local issues and the election results to these five states' assemblies have clearly demonstrated this attitude of the people.#
