Unfolding the details of the initiative, he emphasized on creation of a National People's Corps (NPC) on the lines of National Cadet Corps (NCC).
“This country have been divided on communal, regional, and sectarian lines by vested political interests,†he said. “Therefore, we the citizens of this country have resolved to join together and form into a campaign to unite the country, close our differences, and close our ranks… into one nations and fight terrorism.â€
He said that a national level civil society would be formed to achieve this objective. This committee will be called Rise India campaign committee. People from all walks of life are invited in this campaign. Committees at state and district levels would also be formed. Eminent citizens like Vice-President of India, the Speaker of the Parliament, and the Chief Justice of India are requested to become patrons of the National Committee.
Ratan Tata's, the chief of Tata industries ltd, leadership was sought to head the welfare fund for this campaign.
He urged the parliamentarians of India to appoint a parliamentary committee to suggest remedial measures to all riots and terror attacks in 2008 as well as to pass a law creating NPC having Armed Wing, Service Wing , People's Wing and Student's Wing.#

New Delhi: 'Rise India' campaign against terror is formally initiated today at a press conference here by TJPS Vardhan, the Executive Secretary of Society for Integrated Development in Urban and Rural Areas (SIDUR).
