According party insiders Rahul Gandhi, who has been given enough space to look after the party affairs, wants such changes in both central and state levels.
“Though it would not be a big revamp, yet some central leaders would be sent to states and vice versa†confirms a congress functionary.
The congress is very much concerned over the outcome of the Madhya Paradesh and Chattisgarh assembly polls.
Rahul is also not very much impressed with the Rajasthan assembly election results because he had expected a clear majority, it is learnt.
While internal rambling is seen as major reason for defeat in MP, Ajit jogi's shady image in comparison to BJP's Raman Singh cost Congress dearly in Chattisgarh.
MP PCC president Suresh Pachouri has already offered his resignation to central leadership. Rahul wants to send a central leader to the state who can unite the divided house before the LS polls. Pachouri is likely to be given some responsibility at congress headquarters.
Similarly, PCC president in Chattisgarh Dharmendar Sahu who lost election, is also likely to be replaced with former PCC president Charan Das Mahant.
The congress is also thinking of utilizing Ajit Jogi's services in some other way. His image has harmed party a lot in the state, it is believed.
In Rajasthan, Congress is stunned over the defeat of all top anti- Gahlot lobby in the party. Here, too, PCC president C P Joshi lost his seat to BJP.
According to the sources, Rahul wants to give command of the party to such a person who can unitedly lead the party in the state.
These three states are importat for the party because there are 65 lok sabha seat altogether.
Organizational changes are also likely to take place in some other sates including Maharastra, Bihar and west Bengal.#
