Some of the doctors showed off their talents solo, others shared their experience with the Covid patients.
It was the second such programme by New Delhi YMCA to say `Thank You’ to these warriors. Earlier it had organised a similar event for Delhi Police.
In a 90-minute interesting programme, Covid was forgotten as Doctors and YMCA singers performed online from different locations.
While YMCA performers entertained the medical fraternity, the medicos themselves too to the mike and turned in beautiful renditions.
Dr Kapil Suri, HOD Radiology, at Safdarjung Hospital brought Kishore Kumar live for the audience. Dr Sumathi Muralidhar also impressed with her melodious voice as she sang American pop group’s famous number `Yesterday Once More’
Dr Sumathi is a Consultant Microbiologist at Safdarjung Hospital and also Professor at Department of Microbiology, Vardhman Mahavir Medical College.
Well-known ENT specialist Dr (Prof) N N Mathur, Director, Lady Harding Medical College thanked New Delhi YMCA for organising the unique event. He complimented YMCA for running `one of the best Covid centres.
The New Delhi YMCA had converted its Tourist Hostel with over 200 beds into a Covid Centre.
Doctors from Lady Harding Medical College and Kalavti Saran Hospital participated in large number. They presented a group song specially made for the show.
Dr Ritu Saxena, Chief Medical Officer of LNJP Hospital shared her experience with the Covid patients. She said the doctors, nurses and other Staff was working round the clock and needed such entertainment also.
Dr K C Tamaria, HOD paediatrics Safdarjung Hospital and former MS AIIMS, Bhopal also expressed similar sentiments. In fact he was instrumental in getting all the Safdarjung Doctors for participation.
Romeo Roberts, Radiographer from St Stephen’s Hospital and Neil Milton, HOD of Radiology, Holy Family Hospital also performed creditably.
Rajinald Vijay Milton, Rajinald Vijay Milton, Systems Officer, New Delhi YMCA and his daughter Shanon also enthralled the audience.
