While addressing a public gathering in Barod Tehsil, which is part of Agar-Malwa constituency Kamal Nath said “When I had last visited here on March 2 I was the Chief Minister. We had formed a government on the basis of votes, but they (BJP) made a government on the basis of notes (money)” said Nath.

“BJP had ruled for 15 years while I worked as the Chief Minister only for 15 months. I resigned because I didn’t want to continue as I can’t do ‘Soude Ki Rajniti’ (politics of dealing) Nath said, adding that “in my 45-year long political career, I tried to stay clean and ethical so that nobody ‘can point a finger’ (level any allegation) at me”.

“In Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s government the condition of farmers and youths is very bad”, said the former Chief Minister.

“What sin did I commit? If I launched a crackdown against mafia and adulterated food by starting ‘Shuddh ke liye yuddh’ to improve Madhya Pradesh’s image” asked Nath adding that he was not worried about toppling his government but cared about the future of the state, its people farmers and women”.

While launching fierce attack on Kamal Nath also by using unparliamentarily language Chief Minister Chouhan said at Morena “We want to provide houses to uplift the lives of the people, but they (Congress) have black hearts and want to wave black flags”.

“Jyotiraditya Scindia and his supporters uprooted the corrupt Congress government. When Congress formed government people of Madhya Pradesh thought that the CM would be from Gwalior, but Congress chose someone else for the post. Was it not an act of treachery” Chouhan said.

“The Congress government also closed all our welfare schemes” Chouhan added. He urged the people to bless BJP in the upcoming by-polls and said that his government would change the picture of the region with over all development.

Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, who was also present at the rally, said not a single bhoomi pujan for development work was performed in th region during the 15-month Congress regime “development is only possible when there is BJP” he added.

Launching a direct attack on Congress top brass, BJP Rajya Sabha MP Jyotiraditya Scindia called Rahul Gandhi a traitor. “Rahul Gandhi had said that if farmers’ loan was not waived in 10 days time, he would change the Chief Minister. We waited for ten months. Digvijaya Singh and Kamal Nath are also traitors” he said.

“Nath promised to give Rs. 51,000 to girls for marriage and Rs. 4,000 as unemployment allowance to youths, but did not stick to his words. MLAs (who resigned to join BJP) left their posts to serve the people. Nath government turned development into business” Scindia added.

While the Congress has declared its candidates for 15 constituencies, BJP proposes to announce its list when the ‘Pitra Paksha” will be over as it is considered inauspicious to begin a new task. Sources in BJP disclosed that Congress has made some intelligent moves and fielded former MP Premchand Guddu from Sanver, K L Agarwal from Bamori and Asha Dohre from Ashoknagar. BJP has almost finalised 25 names. Out of which 22 are Scindia loyalist former Congress MLAs who switched over to the saffron party.

BJP is trying to reach a consensus over names for Joura (Morena district) and Agar Malwa assembly constituencies. “We have almost decided 25 names for the upcoming by-polls. There are discussions underway for names on two seats, Joura and Agar Malwa. They are also likely to be finalised after “pitra Paksha’ by then we will complete our organisational programmes slated for September 16 and 17 to mark ‘Sewa Saptah’ on the occasion of Prime Minster Narendra Modi’s birthday” BJP state president V D Sharma told media persons.

Apart from 22 Scindia loyalists who have already been told to prepare for the by polls, three leaders from Mandhata (Narayan Singh Patel), Nepanagar (Sumitra Kasdekar) and Malhara (Pradyuman Singh Lodhi) who had resigned as MLAs and quit Congress to join BJP, will also contest from their old assembly seats, sources confirmed.

Congress said it is ridiculous that BJP is waiting for an auspicious day to declare its names. “BJP loyalists have resented the distribution of tickets to Scindia supporters. Now, the party is seeking an auspicious day to declare the names of candidates. There are internal differences in the party ahead of the by-polls which will come to fore very soon” said Congress state spokesperson K K Mishra. (IPA Service)
