Mr Atul Anjaan who is also general secretary of All India Kisan Sabha said that these bills cleared by the parliament would act against farmers, interests especially small, marginal and poor peasantry. The provisions of the bills, when implemented, will ruin the entire agricultural economy, he said.
On behalf of Kisan Sabha, Atul Anjaan said he would request President Ram Nath Kovind not to give his assent to the Act.
Mr Anjaan said that he was the first politician who requested President not to give his assent. He was happy that later on 18 political parties also approached the President not to give his assent to these three bills.
Anjaan disclosed the he was mobilising support all over the country for the success of nation-wide bandh on September 25 following call given by All India Kisan Sangarsh Coordination Committee on behalf of more 200 farmers organisations against three bills cleared by the Parliament.
CPI national secretary said that he was in touch like-minded opposition parties to join the bandh.
Atul Anjan said that AIKSCC would also observe 114 birth anniversary of Shaheed-e-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh on September 28 to highlight the pro- corporate and anti-farmers acts of the central government.
Mr Anjan explained that these three bills/Acts would completely stop government procurement of crops which would bring halt to price security for peasants as private mandis would be set up.
CPI leader said that the trade regulations of all cereals, all pulses, oil seeds, onions and potato would be removed from coverage under essential commodities.
He said that all those political who claim to work for poor sections of society should join hands as 70 percent of farmers were from backward and marginalised sections of population.
CPI leader said that Modi government was pro corporate that is why ports had been sold to them.
