Former chief ministers Akhilesh Yadav, Mayawati and Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi are repeatedly raising the issue of growing unemployment in UP especially during last three years ever since BJP came to power.

Samajwadi Party National President Akhilesh Yadav recently gave call for light off at 9 pm for 9 minutes in UP to support unemployed youths to attract attention of Yogi government toward their problems.

Akhilesh Yadav maintains dialogue with youth leaders and student leaders from all over the state to get feedback regarding unemployment and directs them to organise dharna and protest at district level.

Unemployment remains the main agenda for Akhilesh Yadav to attack Yogi Government during last few months especially during pandemic.

Former Chief Minister and national President of BSP Mayawati also repeatedly raised the issue of unemployment from time to time.

Mayawati directed her party leaders to gather actual feedback regarding growing unemployment especially during pandemic period.

Mayawati blamed BJP government for its failure to create jobs in the state.

AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi also succeeded in establishing constant dialogue with unemployment youths through video conferencing listening to their problems.

During last one month, Priyanka got in touch with candidates who appeared for Village Development officer, sub-inspector, agricultural graduates from different agriculture universities and shiksha mitra , urdu teachers and others.

Priyanka Gandhi wrote letters to CM Yogi Adityanth and apprised him of the issues concerning unemployed youths and demanded immediate action.

She also directed UPCC president Ajay Kumar Laloo to take up the issue of unemployed youth and launch agitation. Ajay Kumar Laloo alleged that was bungling in the appointment of 69,000 assistant basic teachers which was stayed by the court.

It would be worth mentioning here that in a written reply UP labour minister Swami Prasad Maurya told UP Assembly in last session that there were 33.93 lakhs unemployed persons registered with the government.

Significantly the number of unemployed educated youth in UP has grown by 12.5 lakhs in last two years.

The number of registered educated unemployed in UP stood at 21.39 lakhs on June 30 2018. This amounts to a 58.43 per cent growth in the number of unemployed people in the state in last two years.

It would be worth mentioning that the report of Centre for m Monitoring Indian Economy unemployment data significantly increased in 2019 as compared to 2018.

The average unemployment in UP jumped to 9.5 per cent during last year as against 5.91 per cent in 2018.

It is notable that the unemployment rate in UP was higher than the national average of 7.7 per cent owing to marked decline in economic activity.

In order to counter attack from the opposition CM Yogi announced to give jobs to one crore people including migrant labourers.

CM yogi Adityanath has directed his officers to prepare action plan to find out vacancies in all government departments and make arrangements to fill them in time bound manner.
