No human wants prohibition to his rights to have something that he wants though he may not have a need. Last seven decades have proved that prohibitive legislations have failed to achieve their objectives. It slowed down the growth pattern in every activity except the most undesirable field of human dishonesty and corruption. The Prime Minister launched new method by depriving his ministers of the political authority. But his ever growing dependence on bureaucracy made no sense. Both the departments to ensure compliance of direct taxes and indirect levies reek of corruption. Yet he virtually equipped the personnel of both with more powers.
Many senior citizens have often expressed their fears that long before the end of the century the original Hindu population would be turned to be minority in their land while growth of the Muslims with higher number of children would make them the majority. The fears are completely mis-founded. Political power was in hands of the Muslim rulers for nearly seven centuries. Yet the Muslim population proportion remained less than ten per cent. History tells that they enjoyed political power. They were lured by sagas of wealth flowing through river streams in India.
They did not become assimilated part of the majority like other aggressors but no attempts are recorded by history of forced conversions. They also could not prevent influence of India converting the Muslim society into the caste and class ridden like the majority society. In no other country can one find such caste divisions as they obtain in India.
The educated young Dalits had confessed after they embraced Islam in February 1982 in Tamilnadu that the prevalent system of social and religious equality in Islam had induced them after they continued to suffer humiliations in the Indian society. One young pointed out our sixty year old wise man has to stand with bent neck and bended at the waist with folded hands before even a child of seen year of the upper caste. No other society treats their senior citizens like that even though they may be earning their living with similar kind of vocation.
More intriguing is silence of the Prime Minister over the proposed measures to ban inter religious marriages. The objective is to punish Muslim youth. The consequence would also deprive girls of the fundamental right to opt for their life partners. The states under the BJP rule are etching to prove their credentials by introducing the new prohibitive legislation. Every chief minister of the BJP stamp appears to be eager to lead in prohibitive legislations of every kind overlooking the basic human tendency. The union home minister also played a game of reducing them to be sub-citizens as throwing out the Muslims in such large numbers to any other land is an impossible. No other country would accept them and Hitler like solution for eliminating them is impossible without inviting wrath of other communities.
The 2014 election outcome was a glorious reflection of Indian psyche preferring hard labour for the bread and not free lunch thrown at them as charity. The chief of the ruling coalition Sonia Gandhi had offered charity of Rs,1.95 lakh crore every year but the commander of the opposing forces less known, Narendra Modi had warned not to expect free food and be prepared for hard toil to convert India to be super economic power. The choice was between dignity and charity. The Indian electorate preferred dignity and gave mandate to him and punished the offer of charity by reducing her party to mere 44 seats, not even 55 to provide it dignified status as the main opposition.
The demonetization of high value notes in November 2016 was certainly a disaster for the Indian economy and employment even if temporary hardships to urban middle class is ignored. It is difficult to believe that he had not comprehended when he initiated the move. He had successfully administered the state affairs for 13 years to habitually cogitate over the consequence and price that people have to suffer and pay for every measure. Three objectives listed to justify the severe economic measure were mere pretext to hide his real intent. Yet the conversion of fake currency notes into official amount through exchange at bank counters did turned the move into a greater disaster.
The lock down as a measure to fight the corona pandemic is another disaster. The consequence of it cannot be counted in monetary terms. He converted he middle classes in cowards, broke social relationships and pushed the economy down the hill instead of moving up as promised in 2014. The greater shock remains hidden up in the mounting numbers of infected. It also covers up the heavy death toll of sick due to denial of services by hospitals, forced to convert their 80 per cent facilities exclusively for corona patients. Most private hospitals demanded payments in cash. The cash payment demand is in itself revelation of malpractices on a massive scale. Recovery of more than 90 per cent infected reflected efficiency of the government. The massive numbers of infection justified the lock down and equally massive recovery numbers spoke of efficiency.
In hassle of the fight against the most dreaded pandemic everyone overlooked that all places of worship were locked to Indians for seven months by the regime of the party that had led the relentless agitation for 25 years for one temple. Idols in temples remained alone without the devotees able to come in every day for seven months to worship and offer prayers to them. The lock down had not only resulted in social distancing within families but also between devotees and their deities. The NaMo fan club would immediately quip “even gods’ idols needed to be protected from virus and its ill effects and our Prime Minister ensured it.
THE SUCCESS AND FAILURE OF THE REGIME

There is always a rush of claimants to take credit of being sire of success but failures left to find their mothers to hide in the wombs. The NaMo fan club is not tired of claiming success of his regime in the past seven years though even more failures stare them. The fans are also unable to cover up the stark reality of the collapse of the economy and yawning reality of manifold increase in unemployment.
