The opposition parties have mobilised leaders and workers to organisedharna and agitation from block level to district headquarters.

Former chief minister and national president of Samajwadi Party Akhilesh Yadav has taken lead in organising state-wide agitation in support of farmers.

Akhilesh Yadav himself led the tractor rally in his village Sefai on Republic Day and addressed the party workers and farmers.

Akhilesh Yadav explained the shortcomings of farm laws and said his party always stood by farmers who were backbone of Samajwadi Party. Akhilesh Yadav said that farm laws would adversely affect farmers and would benefit corporate houses.

Samajwadi Party leaders under the direction from Akhilesh Yadav organised tractor rallies from tehsil level to district headquarters all over the state on Republic Day to express their solidarity with ongoing farmers agitation. Later the party complained the administration tried to block the rallies by preventing the movement of tractors.

Akhilesh Yadav constituted Samajwadi Kisan Samiti to support the farmers agitation. This panel would have all the district presidents and prominent leaders of western UP. It would also include Swami Omvesh, Kamaal Akhtar, Sanjay Garg, Sanjay Laathar, Chandan Chauhan, Atul Pradhan, Ashu Mallik, Nahid Husnain, Prof Sudhir Pawar, Col Subhash Deshwal.

This high power committee will oversee the arrangement to support farmers agitation and it would also record atrocities on farmers and prepare a detailed report.

AICC general secretary and incharge of UP, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has mobilised the entire organisation in UP to support farmers agitation.

Priyanka Gandhi directed UPCC president Ajay Kumar Lalloo and other leaders to tour districts to oversee the dharna and agitations from grass root level in support of farmers.

Priyanka Gandhi is in touch with party leaders and workers to sensitise them about the implications of anti farm laws.

Priyanka repeatedly said that controvercial farm laws would not only affect farmers but also damage entire country. She alleged that these laws were passed to safeguards the interest of few corporote houses.

Priyanka Gandhi sent UPCC president to meet BKU president Rakesh Tikait at the venue of the agitation to express solidarity.

Rashtriya Lok Dal led by former Union minister Ajit Singh and his son Jayant Choudhry also eextended full support to farmers agitation.

The party gave call to party workers all over the state to hit streets to raise the issue of farmers agitation and oppose farm laws.

RLD has strong presence in western UP and majority workers and leaders are farmers who are participating in the agitation. RLD leader Jayant Choudhryis, giving his moral support to the agitation through his presence at the venue.

BKU president Rakesh Tikait who is the main leader of the agitation from UP was moved by overwhelming support from Ajit Singh and his son Jayant Choudhry.

Significantly enough Bahujan Samaj Party national President and former Chief Minister Mayawati also announced support of her party for farmers agitation and opposed farm laws.

BSP leaders were present during mahapanchayat of farmers held at Muzaffarnagar.

Earlier BSP had supported call for Bharat Bandh in support of farmers agitation and recently it also boycotted the address of President to joint session of Parliament.

CPI national secretary and general secretary of All India Kisan Sabha are coordinating with other parties and farmer's organisation to decide the strategy for farmer's agitation.

Atul Anjan has addressed farmers rallies at Patna and other places to support farmers agitation. Atul Anjaan said that farmers agitation would continue till farm laws were not withdrawn.

State secretaries of CPI Girish Sharma and CPI -M Heeralal Yadav are in touch with other trade unions to organise agitations and meetings in support of farmers agitation. These leaders alleged that farmers were being harassed by the government beside problems created by farm laws. These leaders are also in touch other like-minded smaller parties and groups to mobilise support for formers agitation.(IPA Service)
