Former chief minister and SP national President Akhilesh Yadav has asked party leaders to protest against large scale bungling in Zila Panchayats polls, violence during nominations in block pramukh polls, deterioration in law and order, mishandling of pandemic and anti -farmers laws and price rise.

Akhilesh Yadav believes the party workers would be mobilised for assembly polls through street agitations on public issues to reach out to voters. Akhilesh Yadav is in touch with other political parties to reach understanding for assembly polls. He has already reached understanding with Mahan Dal and RLD. Much significance is attached to recent meeting between Akhilesh Yadav and Sanjay Singh of AAP Party.

Akhilesh Yadav, who had bitter experience with Congress and BSP, is busy in making rainbow coalition of different castes through social engineering. Samajwadi Party is getting maximum support from Muslims eversince Mulayam Singh Yadav as CM opened firing on karsewaks in Ayodhya in 1990 to protect Babri Mosque.

But this time Akhilesh Yadav is facing potential challenge from Assauddin Owasi and his party as he announced to contest 100 seats in collaboration with bhagidari morcha of Om Prakash Rajbhar. During last few months Samajwadi Party was involved in training camps held in different parts of state. Akhilesh Yadav also addressed these training camps and asked workers to prepare themselves for polls. Akhilesh Yadav is confident that people would vote for his party for the development work done during his regime. He has repeatedly said that people were fed up of politics of hate persued by BJP.

Although BSP national Party president former chief minister Mayawati was nowhere to be seen during last four years. Mayawati was seen advising BJP governments in state and at the centre on the issue of governance be it pandemic or migratory labour. Mayawati also faced biggest poaching of her party leaders by Congress, BJP and SP. There has been exodus of grass-root workers from BSP to other parties. Shocked by the exodus of party leaders Mayawati was forced to effect major changes in the party structure and organisation. Mayawati always believes in caste equation and she revived bhaichara samiti to establish contacts with different castes. With the erosion of ground-level support the ticket distribution in BSP is also at low-key. Dubbed as B team of BJP by Samajwadi Party and Congress leaders time to time Mayawati is also working hard to be seen as independent entity.

Congress under the leadership of AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi is making preparations for assembly polls. Eversince Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s intention to stay in Lucknow and tour different parts of state was announced it boosted the morale of party leaders and workers. During pandemic Priyanka Gandhi Vadra kept party leaders and workers involved in taking to roads on people's problems. Congress was the only opposition party which was seen hitting the roads for people's cause and senior leaders courting arrest.

Significantly enough Priyanka Gandhi Vadra addressed the different sections of society and groups through video conferences. She assured that her party would fight for their problems. Reviving old tradition, Priyanka Gandhi also is organising training camps of party leaders and workers in different parts of state. Senior party leaders and other experts were engaged to interact with party workers to explain them policy, programs and history of party. Congress Party is getting good response from party leaders and workers who have applied for party ticket for assembly polls.

As of now all major opposition parties are busy in strengthening the organisation and looking outside for smaller groups for broad understanding but a total alliance of the opposition parties against BJP in Uttar Pradesh, is a remote possibility. (IPA Service)
