Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath regularly visits Ayodhya to see the construction of the temple as well as the development work being carried out there. CM Yogi Adityanath wants to project the development works done in Ayodhya during the election campaign in assembly polls.
In order to keep powerful brahmin community in good humour, BJP brought Former Union Minister Jitin Prasad in the party. It would be worth mentioning here Jitin Prasad through his Brahim Chetna Rath was keeping tab on atrocities on his community. It is very likely that Jitin Prasad would be inducted in the ministry during forthcoming ministerial expansion in UP. Another Brahmin MP was accommodated in cabinet expansion at the centre to give the impression to the powerful community which is very vocal as well.
At the same time BJP is playing mandal card to win over backwards and OBC. Before cabinet reshuffle at the centre. Union Home minister Amit Shah held meeting with Anupriya Patel and she was given important ministry.
When BJP came to power at the centre in 2014,Apna Dal was part of NDA and Anupriya Patel was made minister at the centre. Anupriya Patel succeed in getting powerful kurmi backwards votes to BJP in 2017 assembly polls.
But after the results of 2019LokSabha polls, Anupriya Patel was expecting she would get ministerial berth at the centre and her husband in UP Ministry. But BJP refused the claim of Anupriya and her husband.
During last few months Anupriya Patel was desperate and got in touch with Congress and Samajwadi Party leaders. BJP leaders immediately got in touch with Anupriya Patel and her meeting was arranged with Amit Shah and eventually she was inducted in the ministry. BJP is like to play mandal card to adjust backwards leaders from Kurmi, Nishad Party and make leaders of these communities ministers in Yogi Adityanath Ministry.
The manner in which entire BJP and PM Narendra Modi gave importance to former CM Kalyan Singh from his hospitalisation to his death, they succeeded in sending the message to voters that the person played important role in Ram Janmabhumi movement and at the same time backward face of the party was a tall personality.
Beside playing kamandal and mandal cards, entire BJP and all organisations of the Sangh Parivar are working overtime to reach out to public to create awareness for BJP in view of assembly polls.
BJP national President JP Nadda himself visited state capital and held discussion with state leadership. Senior functionaries of RSS also camped in Lucknow and held meeting to mobilize support for BJP for assembly polls. BJP leaders also organised training camps all over the state which were addressed by senior leaders and specialists.
On the other hand, Samajwadi Party appears to be main challenger and its national President and former CM Akhilesh Yadav is also busy in making preparations. Akhilesh Yadav is also in touch with smaller parties and various caste groups to make rainbow coalition of various castes. The success of recent cycle yatra enthused the party leaders and workers to hit streets and took on BJP on the issues concerning people. So far Samajwadi Party is able to get maximum support from muslims who constitute 18 per cent of total electorates.
Samajwadi Party made inroads in schedule caste and scheduled tribe when party celebrate dalit deepawali by putting lights in around statues of dalit icons and Harijan bastis. During last few months there has been induction of several important BSP leaders and workers in Samajwadi Party.
As of now Samajwadi Party appears be putting up main challenge to BJP to stop it from coming to power. Much depends on ability of Akhilesh Yadav to seal alliance with likeminded parties to stop split in non-BJP votes. (IPA Service)
