During her stay in state capital, Priyanka had marathon meetings with different wings of party organisation to fine tune strategy to face the assembly elections.

Priyanka had zonewise meetings with party office-bearers and discussed their preparedness for the elections.

Significantly enough, Priyanka said that opinion of office-bearers would play important role in deciding party ticket this time.

During her stay Priyanka emphasised on three-layer process for the selection of candidates.Priyanka asked 50 member Pradesh Election Committee to screen the application which would be done seatwise in the presence of office-bearers of state ,district and Assembly level. These names would be sent to screening committee which would send approved list to Congress Central election committee Final list would be announced. Only then.

Significantly enough 50 members Pradesh election committee include the names of former union ministers Salman Khurseed, RPN Singh and other senior leaders.

Priyanka has set deadline for submitting the application for seeking party tickets for assembly polls.

According to informed sources, the applications would be accepted at district and state headquarters till September 25.

Priyanka has emphasised for need for strong party organisation to face assembly polls.

That is why she initiated programme to train 2 lakh party office bearers and workers under Prashikshan Se Parakram through 700 training camps all over the state.

They are given intense training on history and ideology of Congress Party, booth management, better use of social media and real truth about RSS and BJP. One session in each training camp is focused on destruction of UP during regimes of SP, BSP and BJP.

While addressing the first training camp, Priyanka explained the importance of village unit of party. She further said that her party was fighting not only to win the election but also to save democracy. Congress workers were leading in every fight to save democracy, she added.

Second phase of training programe will be held from September 15 to 30 and 30,000 office bearers and workers would be trained in 100 camps.

As part of campaign for the election, Priyanka finalised Congress Pratigya Yatra-Hum VachanNibhaiyenge which will cover 12,000 km and pass through villages and cities.

Priyanka discussed the routes and issues to be raised by the participants in the yatra with the members of advisory and strategy committee.

Priyanka Gandhi also discussed ongoing farmers,s movement and strategy for Western UP with senior party leaders.

Priyanka Gandhi also visited Amethi and Rae Bareli constituencies of Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi and held meetings with local leaders in view of assembly polls.(IPA Service)
