After receiving information, Wildlife Crime Control Bureau officials searched the restaurant and seized sea cucumbers from the kitchen of the Hotel on 26.8.09.On further interrogation, the shop of the supplier was also searched by the WCCB officials.
After investigation, WCCB arrested the restaurant manger and Proprietor of M/s Agrim Sales, Supplier of Sea-cucumber on 15.02.10, and were produced before the ACMM court. The court bailed upon both the accused on surety bond of Rs. 40,000/each. The court also ordered for surrendering the passport to the Investigating Officer within two days. The WCCB has filed the complaint against the 5-Star Hotel and five other senior management officials and a trader accused in the case before the competent magistrate.
WCCB seized sea-cucumbers (Black fish) from 5-Star Hotel in Delhi

New Delhi: Sea cucumber, a highly protected species under Schedule-1 of the Wildlife Protection Act 1972 has been seized from a restaurant at a five star Hotel in Delhi. The species is commonly called as Black Fish. The seized material was sent to Zoological Survey of India (ZSI), Kolkata for analysis and the Sea-cucumber were identified as Actinopyga milliaris, an official release said today.
