BJP took the initiative to bring Suheldeo Bhartiya Samaj Party of Om Prakash Rajbhar, predominately a backward party with good influence in Central and eastern UP, to NDA.

This alliance was announced by none other powerful Home Minister Amit Shah. It would be worth mentioning here that Om Prakash Rajbhar had been with BJP and was minister in Yogi Adityanath ministry.

But later on, he developed differences with BJP leadership and parted company to join hands with Samajwadi Party and was member of the SP alliance in 2022 assembly polls.

After the results were announced, an ambitious Om Prakash Rajbhar was disappointed that Samajwadi Party and alliance could not capture power which deprived SBSP to be part of the government. Then Om Prakash Rajbhar became critical of Akhilesh Yadav and his party.

BJP was looking for an opportunity to weaken Samajwadi Party and deployed backward leaders to get in touch with Om Prakash Rajbhar which yielded result.

BJP also did it's best to win over Om Prakash Rajbhar which was evident from the participation of senior party leaders at the wedding reception of Rajbhar's son.

BJP is all set to enter into alliance with Mahan Dal and other caste groups and bring them to NDA. BJP has also admitted important leaders from Samajwadi Party, BSP and RLD to enlarge the support base.

Significantly enough, BJP is also making inroads in muslim community by holding dialogue with pasmanda muslims by promising empowerment through central and state welfare schemes.

On the other hand, Bengaluru conclave and formation of alliance by the name of India have boosted the morale of opposition parties in UP, especially the Congress.

Significantly, the presence of Akhilesh Yadavand Jayant Choudhry in Bengaluru conclave ended the lack of dialogue between the two who were part of alliance in 2019 Lok Sabha elections and 2022.Assembly elections.

Ever since Jayant Choudhry of RLD became Rajya Sabha MP with the help of Akhilesh Yadav there was no dialogue between the two leaders. So much so during civic polls, the candidates of both the parties confronted each other in some constituencies. When Akhilesh Yadav visited western UP to campaign for party candidates, there was little communication between the two leaders.

Bangaluru conclave provided the opportunity to Akhilesh and Jayant Choudhry to tweet pictures of each other and send the message through social media that they could join hands to take on BJP in UP.

While Samajwadi Party is trying to build it's image of an All India Party by fielding Party candidates in other states, RLD of Jayant Choudhry is concentrating on 12 Lok Sabha seats.

Samajwadi Party has decided to make caste census as major issue for campaign to win over the support of backward communities. The party has decided to suspend training camps and devote more time in organising caste based meetings in all over the state. Besides backwards dalit and Muslims, Samajwadi Party is also making serious efforts to win over upper caste.

Congress is waiting for second phase of Bharat Jodo Yatra of Rahul Gandhi who would visit more Lok Sabha constituencies to see the mood of the people and then decide about alliance with SP and bargain for the seats.

BSP national President Mayawati made it clear that the party would not join any alliance and would contest the elections on its own in UP and other states. BSP has seen decline in votes share and numbers of seats in successive elections.

There is a general impression thar BSP by remaining out of any alliance will help BJP by playing aggressive muslim card to make dent in Samajwadi Party base. (IPA Service)
