All of this happened when the INDIA bloc was going to meet at the Ashoka Hotel in the Capital to draw up plans and convey to the electorate they were one unit and that is how it would be till the country got down to choosing the next government.
The Congress meanwhile blasted the Modi government for "bulldozing key bills" without dissent. That's right. The Modi government couldn't care less, acting like an elephant in heat and on the rampage. The suspensions were unprecedented — 78 opposition MPs suspended from Parliament on a single day, the highest number for both the Rajya Sabha, and the Lok Sabha.
Suspended from the Parliament for the remainder of the Winter Session, 33 MPs from the Lok Sabha and 34 from Rajya Sabha. Like the douchebag roaming the world wide web would confide. The cases of 3 Lok Sabha MPs and 11 Rajya Sabha were sent to the Privileges Committee of Parliament.
It was as if visceral hatred had found home in the Parliament. Like pointed out, unprecedented in its scale and impact. If this is what is called a fair world, the Modi government should face the guillotine, which fits the crime better than the hangman’s noose. Fact is, and the question is being asked, “What are the Modi government’s intentions?
Talk is Prime Minister Narendra Modi is transforming into real-time version of the reel-time ‘The Dictator’ right before the eyes of 1 billion and 40 crore Indians, masses who had never seen an authoritarian in flesh. Whoever coined “undeclared emergency” is a genius.
The Parliament security breach happened and whose fault was it? There are chinks in the New Parliament’s armour. The government can deny only at its own peril. Fact is, it requires more than a ‘Sengol’ to guard the sanctity of Parliament. At least this must be known by now to the chest-thumping Modi government.
Why is it that some citizens are complaining of strange noises in the ear? Could it be the suspended Members of Parliament cursing the government? The curse will be on all the people of India. Even otherwise, there’s been talk of a dark curse on India since May of 2014. A decade later and India is stuck with the curse.
Never mind, the reality is the rest of the Winter Session is up the creek without a paddle. And the ruckus in Parliament is the lullaby that BJP honchos take to bed night after night when Parliament is in session. It’s the ‘Sound of Music’ for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his flock of MPs. The BJP sleeps like a baby when pandemonium takes charge of both Houses of Parliament under their watch.
And ruckus has reigned in Parliament since the December 13 Parliament security breach. That is one crime. The other is worse: The Modi government wants the Opposition to continue as if nothing happened. Don’t file your objections, just head home and sing the lullaby to the Prime Minister. Ignore the Union Home Minister because he seems to have been told to spend time doing anything but speak on the security breach.
The Modi government’s singular focus is on the electoral threat posed by the INDIA bloc, which, contrary to all belief, hasn’t disappeared after Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan. The BJP victories in these three states is no guarantee that Lok Sabha 2024 is in the BJP’s bag and the BJP is nervous about what the Congress’s Telangana victory holds.
The saffron party has more or less been told that the south of the Vindhyas is out of bounds, a closed chapter for the Bharatiya Janata Party. It is disconcerting for the Bharatiya Janata Party. The Opposition threat to boycott Parliament could become worse for the ruling dispensation if the Opposition MPs all en mass resign and leave Prime Minister Narendra Modi holding on to his 'Sengol'. DOES THE BJP GOVT WANT TO HAVE OPPOSITION MUKT PARLIAMENT IN THE WINTER SESSION?
CONTINUING SUSPENSION OF MEMBERS POSES QUESTION ABOUT THE WORKING OF DEMOCRACY

As many as 92 opposition MPs were suspended till the day before. And, then, the next day another 50 from the Lok Sabha. What's happening, does the Narendra Modi government and the BJP want an Opposition-free Parliament? Does the 'Sengol' mean a free run for the Modi government? Such a thing hadn’t happened in 34 years. Many of the suspended MPs gathered on the Parliament front Tuesday and generally had a good time celebrating their suspension with mimicries of Rajya Sabha Chairman and Vice President of India Jagdish Dhankar. Definitely, there is a load of hidden talent in our lot of non-BJP MPs.
