Clearly, Haley appears to be getting all the breaks. A month ago, Haley had "lit up Vivek Ramaswamy – the other Indian origin Republican presidential nominee hopeful – like a pinball machine”, which “the people appreciated very much”. Haley, said a particularly fawning media outlet, is “looking to outperform expectations in the Iowa caucuses” and challenge former President Trump for the Republican nomination.

That is notwithstanding Haley’s blank stare, which she flaunts at awkward moments, that can scare off a cat if the cat cared to take a look at Nikki alias Nimrata, the name her Sikh parents gave her. The catch is, Nikki/Nimrata is no longer Indian-origin. Nor is she Sikh anymore after converting to Christianity. In official electoral records, the former South Carolina Governor and President Donald Trump’s UN Ambassador is “White” – not “Person of Colour” like all Indian-origin Americans are labelled as.

Like most north Indians, Nikki Haley appears to be very conscious of "having fair skin" and maybe even racist in outlook. Like when she was asked about what were her thoughts on the American Civil War, Nikki nuanced and totally missed out the “slavery” part of the Civil War. Nikki Haley has since made amends and the liberal media is back to casting her as the closest nominee aspirant to close the gap with Donald Trump, perhaps even beat the former President.

On Thursday, Haley said that as far as she was concerned, Trump cannot escape culpability for the Jan.6 “insurrection”. In a field where Trump is the top draw, and Vivek Ramaswamy the upstart Indian with a “brain”, Nikki Haley’s liberal views, and the opinion that she's the closest any Republican can get to be a "Democrat", places Nikki very favourably against Trump and Vivek.

And with Chris Christie dropping out, Nikki is the only option left for Democrats who hate Trump and believe President Joe Biden is too weak to defeat Trump. Nikki Haley has the left-liberal media’s back in the hope that the left-liberal media will have Nikki Haley’s back when the time comes. So, the media is seeing a “surge in the polls and fundraising” for Nikki Haley while Trump “has fallen under greater scrutiny” from the courts, where he has a docket full of legal trouble to deal with.

Also, Trump, says the media, is “concerned about Nikki’s rise” and such talk keeps Nikki Haley and her “dollar donors” happy though the reality is Trump is miles ahead of ‘Haley the Comet’ and Haley is still lagging Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in Iowa.

Haley hopes to do better in New Hampshire, and better still in South Carolina, of which Nikki Haley was Governor once. America’s left-liberals are pretty hunky-dory with Nikki Haley. America’s big business, especially the defence-industrial complex, is completely assured that Haley will make a great POTUS. In fact, after her stint as the United States’ UN Ambassador, Haley got on to the boards of several defence conglomerates and allegedly made a tonne of money, her net worth running up to a healthy US Dollar eight million. In fact, in the fourth Republican presidential debate Vivek Ramaswamy held up a placard with the legend “Nikki=Corrupt”.

Unfortunately, Trump's lead in the early voting Iowa caucuses, and the New Hampshire primary, is too big a gap for Nikki Haley to bridge. Vivek Ramaswamy expects Haley’s campaign to hit the Iowa fan and New Hampshire wouldn’t be any different. Although recent polls place Nikki Haley ahead of Ramaswamy by big margins, the bio-tech entrepreneur believes Nikki Haley is a media creation and the nominee of big donors and corrupt corporations.

The Trump campaign, however, has ramped up attacks on the “Haley-in-Cheney’s guise”. The liberal media is dying to see Haley giving Trump a run for his money though there are analysts with more savvy who claim to have seen the hoax being played and are saying that the only path left for Nikki Haley is to pray that Donald Trump picks her up for running mate, or Trump chokes on a big fat Hamburger.

America’s mainstream media is making Nikki Haley another Hillary Clinton, but it is tough going and Trump had defeated Hillary. To defeat Trump Haley has to defeat DeSantis. She also has to defeat Vivek Ramaswamy. All of them, except for Ron DeSantis, are angling for a place in a Trump cabinet if not for Trump's VeePee's post. Bottom line, Trump will have to die for Nikki Haley to get a clear shot at the POTUS post. The liberal media has always got it wrong when it comes to Donald Trump. (IPA Service)
