Meanwhile, the candidates and important leaders from those constituencies where the party lost were called to the state party headquarters in Lucknow to discuss as to why the party did so badly in those constituencies.
Senior leaders including the two deputy chief ministers, Maurya and Brijesh Pathak, were also summoned to Delhi where the central leadership held discussions with them to find out the reasons for the defeat of party candidates despite the hectic campaigning done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The majority of BJP candidates who lost the elections blamed sabotage by local party leaders and workers for their defeat.
Significantly, NDA partner Sanjay Nishad whose son Praveen Nishad lost in Sant Kabirnagar, blamed local BJP leaders and BJP workers while another NDA partner Om Prakash Rajbhar, President of SBSP, also blamed the BJP for the defeat of his son in the Ghosi Lok Sabha seat. Later, he blamed the party symbol, the "walking stick", for his son's defeat.
One thing is certain that caste-based alliance partners of NDA in UP especially Nishad Party of Sanjay Nishad and Suheldeo Bhartiya Samaj Party of Om Prakash Rajbhar could not bring the votes of their caste for the alliance candidates, which is why a large number of candidates lost in Poorvanchal.
The state BJP leadership has prepared a report on the non-performance of ministers and MPs and legislators in their areas. The report would be submitted to the central leadership at an appropriate time. Large scale changes are expected in UP after the review. At a time when the PM had given the slogan "Abki baar 400 paar" the strength of BJP MPs declined to 33 from 62 won in 2019 in UP. (IPA Service)

LUCKNOW: Shocked by the humiliating performance of the party in UP in the Lok Sabha polls, the BJP leadership has decided to assign 40 teams of two important leaders each to study the voting patterns. Each team will visit two constituencies and meet local leaders and find out why BJP candidates fared poorly in the Lok Sabha polls. The team will also assess the role of castes and the other issues responsible for the defeat of BJP candidates.
