There is no doubt that the construction of Ram temple could not be of any help to BJP candidates in Lok Sabha elections in UP.. In a major setback, BJP not only lost in Ayodhya but neighbouring constituencies also. BJP will have to make dent in PDA support of Akhilesh Yadav led Samajwadi which is in alliance with the Congress Party in the state.

It would be worth mentioning here that it was only when Akhilesh Yadav played PDA (backward, dalit and Muslims) then only the party emerged as number one in UP in the number of Lok Sabha seats and third largest in Lok Sabha in the country.

Time has come when BJP will give importance to backward leaders Keshav Prasad Maurya who is deputy chief minister under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The first test before BJP is the by-elections for 10 assembly seats where dates are to be announced shortly by the Election Commission.

The selection of candidates for these seats by BJP will also give the impression of backward and dalit card by the saffron brigade.

Soon after the constitution of UP Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Commission ,Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath asked the members to set up committees to reach out to the community and explain them about the work done by the under various schemes for the community.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath told the members of the commission that people should be informed about the welfare schemes by central and state governments.

BJP is unnerved by Jat consolidation for Congress which was evident in Haryana. Till now, BJP claimed support of Jat community and further consolidated the strength by the alliance with RLD.

Now BJP will have to face the combination of Samajwadi Party and Congress and any shift in the mood of powerful Jat community will create big problem for saffron brigade in Western UP during forthcoming by-elections. (IPA Service)
