Sh. Pilot gave these directions after an extensive review of the BSNL services selected these five circles today. He said that adequate financial and technical support would be provided to these circles to achieve the quality parameters set forth for them. Adequate manpower would also be made available. Local innovations and ideas would be encouraged and recognized. The Minister said that the initiative would be regularly reviewed and replicated in the future.
Focus of this quality monitoring would be on problems of call drops, traffic congestion, downtime of telecom towers, promptness and effectiveness of customer service, broadband expansion, push marketing and expansion in no of Points of Presence and response times of BSNL to quality related issues as they arise
The performance of these circles would be measured not only against the benchmarks prescribed by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, but also against the best performance of any telecom operator in these circles. Marketing would be especially strengthened for better brand building through effective advertising, financial incentives, and exploration of new distribution channels.

Service Quality of BSNL to be Closely Monitored

New Delhi: Sh. Sachin Pilot, the Union Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology, has directed that quality of services being offered by BSNL be closely monitored. The exercise has been first launched in Rajasthan, Bihar, Maharashtra, Kerala, and North-East- I Circles.
