The proposal under consideration includes, inter-alia, amendment to enlarge the scope of suo-motu disclosure, to discourage frivolous or vexatious representations, to modify the provision about disclosure of cabinet papers, to safeguard the sensitivity of the office of the Chief Justice of India, to provide for constitution of Benches of the Commission and to incorporate a new section empowering the Commission to make regulations. Amendments, if any, will be made after consultation with stakeholders.
This was stated by the Minister of State in the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Shri Prithviraj Chavan in written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha today.
