With these locations gone live, all mints in the country are live on SAP and remotely connected to the ISO 27001 certified Data Centre at Noida over secure communication lines (VPN) and can make online transactions using ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning). Project managers PwC along with IT partners HCL Infosystems and Implementation partners MahindraSatyam have helped SPMCIL achieve its 2nd phase of SAP ERP implementation.

In phase 1 of SAP ERP implementation at SPMCIL, 3 units went live on 27th December 2010. On 18th January, 2011, then Finance Secretary to the Government of India, Shri Ashok Chawla, inaugurated Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India Limited’s Data Centre at India Government Mint, Noida.

SPMCIL was formed after corporatisation of nine units including four mints, four presses and one paper mill which were earlier functioning under the Ministry of Finance. The Company was incorporated on 13.01.2006 under the Companies Act, 1956 with its headquarters at 16th Floor, Jawahar Vyapar Bhawan, Janpath, New Delhi. SPMCIL, a Miniratna Category – I CPSE, and wholly owned Schedule ‘A’ Company of Government of India, is engaged in the manufacture of security paper, minting of coins, printing of currency and back notes, non-judicial stamp papers, postage stamps, travel documents etc.
