Mayawati has taken this decision to counter the recent “padyatra” by AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi in western UP where he raised the issue of farmers and land acquisition and condemned the state government for all round failure.

BSP supremo is also aware of the efforts of Congress Party to use National Commission for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe in raising the issue of increase in atrocities on dalits during Mayawati regime.

Mayawati is also watching the moves of Congress and Samajwadi Party to win over the support of minorities especially Muslims who play very important role in more then 200 assembly constituencies.

It would be worth mentioning here that there had been serious set back to Mayawati government through murders of two CMOs and one deputy CMO and allegations of multi crores scam in National Rural Health Mission

BSP supremo unfolded her plan to take on her political rivals at an important meeting of party MPs, MLAs and other senior office-bearers held in Lucknow on July 28.

Mayawati asked her party MPs to launch attack on UPA government in general and Congress in particular on the issue of amendment for land acquisition policy, corruption, price rise of diesel and kerosene, inflation and Jan Lokpal bill.

Significantly Mayawati made it clear that her party should not be seen standing with UPA or NDA in the election year.

Chief minister warned her party MPs and MLAs that opposition parties were conspiring to malign the image of the government by raising bogus allegations and they should be prepared to counter them and educate the general public as well .

Mayawati told her party leaders that Congress will be wiped out from UP and padyatra of Rahul Gandhi was super flop.

She asked her party leaders that they shouldn’t be disturbed by such padyatras of Congress and should achieve the target of 250 MLAs for BSP in forthcoming polls.

Mayawati also asked her party MLAs to take monsoon session of UP Assembly in August very seriously. She directed her ministers to come prepared to the House.

As a part of image makeover of the party, Mayawati made it clear that she would not give party tickets to tainted MLAs but also assured that all the sitting MLAs would get the tickets. BSP supremo also assured party MLAs that those denied tickets, would be adjusted in other important positions.

In an attempt to win over Muslims, Mayawati government has allowed Moalim-e-Urdu degree holders to be posted as Urdu teachers in the state government schools.

Mayawati government has also announced to include girl students in madarsa in its flagship scheme Savitri Bai Phule Balika Shiksha Madad Yojna meant to promote education of girl child.

The political pundits opine that these to steps by Mayawati government taken recently would help in wooing Muslims for BSP in the coming assembly polls.
