While son Akhilesh Yadav is moving in rath all over the state, father Mulayam Singh Yadav is busy in making political strategy to ensure that his party comes to power in the state. Mulayam Singh Yadav government was dislodged by Mayawati as chief minister in May 2007 assembly polls.
It would be worth mentioning here that Samajwadi Kranti Rath Yatra was launched on September 12 from Lucknow and it has covered large number of assembly seats uptill now..
SP state president Akhilesh Yadav has achieved success in reaching out to masses through his rath yatra and bicycle rallies in districts and other smaller places.
The response from masses to Akhilesh Yadav has been overwhelming and all throughout the route of yatra people were seen standing on both sides of roads to greet Yadav scion.
Political observers were surprised when Akhilesh Yadav was able to draw huge crowd in Bundelkhand considered to be the pocket burrow of chief minister Mayawati as she was able to get many MLAs elected to UP Assembly in 2007 assembly polls.
It would be a big political fight in Bundelkhand where Rahul Gandhi is taking keen interest and so are SP and BSP.
Whenever Akhilesh Yadav talked about the corruption of Mayawati government he got good response from the people. He has been highlighting the corruption of Mayawati government regarding expenditure of several thousands of crores of rupees in the name of construction of memorials and parks.
Besides launching attack on Mayawati government, Akhilesh has been touching important issues of local areas.
Significantly enough during fifth phase of his yatra Akhilesh Yadav touched the issues of minority community especially Muslims. He is aware of the facts that Badaun is part of Rohilkhand where Muslims play decisive role in the vote politics.
He charged BSP government of neglecting the problems of Muslims who suffer most in present regime.
SP leader said Mayawati government was neglecting Muslim officers if she has genuine love for Muslims the she would get resolution on reservation passed from UP Assembly and send to President for approval.
Akhilesh Yadav also blamed Congress for not implementing recommendations of Sachar committee report which highlighted the precarious conditions of Muslim community. He said that Muslims were socially and economically backward and there were no means for employment.
In order to win over the support of minorities, Akhilesh Yadav promised that if voted to power, his government would implement Sachar committee recommendations.
Akhilesh Yadav said that his party always tried to narrow the divide between Hindu and Muslim community. He claimed that Muslims and Urdu were given better treatment during SP regime in the state..
SP leader blamed Congress government at the centre and BSP government in the state for supporting each other on the issue of inflation, unemployment and corruption.
Early declaration of party tickets has also helped Akhilesh Yadav and his Samajwadi Kranti Rath Yatra in mobilising people for the meetings and road shows in their constituencies.
With Akhilesh Yadav himself leading rath yatra in different parts of the state, Samajwadi Party has been able to address urban and rural youth looking for change in the state after 2012 assembly polls. Akhilesh now represents the voice of the aspiring youth brigade of Uttar Pradesh.(IPA)
