This is the first time that ADB has been selected as an Asian MAKE winner. The MAKE 2011 panel recognized ADB for its collaborative enterprise-wide knowledge sharing. Winners were selected based on eight key knowledge performance indicators including creating a learning organization, innovation, ability to develop knowledge workers through senior management leadership and having an enterprise knowledge-driven culture.
'It has been a few years since ADB began to improve its management of knowledge stocks and flows and we’re very happy to receive this award for our efforts. We look forward to becoming a fully fledged learning organization able to deliver bigger results and greater development impacts,” said Xianbin Yao, Director General of ADB’s Regional and Sustainable Development Department.
ADB was among 20 Asian MAKE winners chosen from 78 organizations based in Asia. The MAKE panel comprised Asian-based Fortune 500 senior executives and leading knowledge management experts. The MAKE research program consists of the annual global MAKE study that focuses on leading knowledge organizations, along with a series of similar regional and national studies. The award ceremony was held on 13 October, 2011.
Teleos, a knowledge management and intellectual capital research firm, administers the MAKE program. The KNOW Network is a web-based global community of organizations dedicated to achieving superior performance through networking and best practice knowledge sharing.
