Working Party Chairman Stefan Johannesson of Iceland informed members he would send them his updated Working Party Report, the Protocol of Accession and Russia’s commitments for market opening in goods and services. Those documents were delivered to members Thursday 27 October.
“I have sent to Members today the negotiating documents that reflect the last stages of our work on the Russian accession. I have informed Members that the Russian Accession Working Party will meet in formal session on 10-11 November when we intend to complete our work and forward to Ministers our recommendations for their decision at the December Ministerial Conference. WTO Members strongly supported these recommended next steps,” said Amb. Johannesson.
Amb. Johannesson told members that he would schedule an informal session of the Working Party 7-8 November to prepare for the final formal session at which all remaining differences are expected to be resolved.
