HEAD-Geneva, Western Switzerland’s leading art and design institution, was founded in 2006 as a result of a merger between the Ecole supérieure des beaux-arts and the Haute école d’arts appliqués, both over 200 years old. Offering a wide range of high-level courses covering two vast areas of equal importance, visual arts and design, it has developed a successful track record in the signage area with organizations such as the University of Geneva and the University Hospitals of Geneva.
“HEAD combines professionalism and expertise, two concepts that we can readily identify with at the WTO,” said Pascal Lamy, WTO Director-General. “This co-operation”, he added, “which is a first between an international organization and an art school, is a further example of the WTO’s commitment to Geneva.”

On 1 November 2011, the Geneva University of Art and Design (HEAD) and the World Trade Organization concluded an agreement for the development of the signage of WTO Headquarters (renovated areas and new building). Under the supervision of their professors, students from the school will be working on the project until 30 September 2012.
