The US Federal Aviation Administration and India’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation will sign an Agreement on Aviation Safety on Thursday at the margins of the 3rd US-India Aviation Summit in Delhi.

The US-India Aviation Summit is held biennially as part of the US-India Aviation Cooperation Program (ACP). The ACP is a public-private partnership between the US Government, Indian Government and US aviation companies.

There are 31 private members including American Airlines, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Bell Helicopter, Honeywell, and Goodrich who will be participating in the Summit. US Trade Development Agency (USTDA) Director Leocadia “Lee” Zak is leading the US delegation.

The US delegation also includes representatives from Department of State, USTDA, Commerce, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC). The agreement that will be signed between the two countries reflects the mutual commitment of the US and India to enhance international safety and is expected to enable a more efficient exchange of aviation products.
