People of the state still remember that thrice BJP had been instrumental in installation of Mayawati as chief minister. The political analysts feel that whatever BJP gained in the term of increasing its support base due to Ram Janambhumi movement was lost due to its continuous support to Mayawati.
Now in order to gain the people’s confidence, BJP held its national executive in Lucknow where Vision UP was prepared in which it was categorically said that party would not have alliance with any political party. It was also discussed that there was time when party had made inroads in all castes while pursuing Hindutva agenda and Ram temple and party came to power in 1991 on its own and sent all time high 56 MPs in 1998 Lok Sabha polls.
BJP also took out Jan Swabhiman Yatra one led by Kalraj Mishra from Varanasi and other led by former chief minister Rajnath Singh from Mathura. Throughout the yatra which covered maximum part of the state, both Rajnath Singh and Kalraj Mishra only launched attack on chief minister Mayawati and her government and tried to convince the people that BJP would not have any pre or post alliance with BSP
The response to both the yatras was good which had boosted the moral of party leadership and workers. Political analysts opine that the success behind the yatras was mobilization of public by the party workers.
The issue of corruption raised by Anna Hazare has also caught the imagination of the public and anybody who criticizes corruption of Mayawati government is being appreciated. BJP leaders feel that anger against Congress on the issue of corruption will help them in assembly polls.
BJP national president Nitin Gadkari also reiterated in Ayodhya on November 17 where both the yatras ended their journey that his party will not join hand with BSP. Gadkari said he was confident that his party would form the government but if it failed to get required number then it would prefer to sit opposition. BJP has also been exposing the corruption against Mayawati government and released a booklet containing all the details and documents which would be distributed from district headquarters to village level so that people are aware about the corruption.
BJP has opposed the chief minister Mayawati’s recent efforts to divide the state into four parts. On the contrary BJP has announced to bring no-confidence motion against Mayawati government which appeared to be in crisis as Mayawati took action against her ministers and MLAs in recent months. Now SP has also announced that it would also table bill for no-confidence motion against Mayawati government.
After Jan Swabhiman Yatra, BJP had announced its new programme by the name.” BJP lao Pradesh bachao “. Uma Bharati would be the convenor of the programme and party will hold meeting in all the 402 assembly constituencies during December 1 to 15.
BJP is facing the most difficult task that is ticket distribution which requires a lot of study and persuasions. The party is under pressure from RSS to remove non-performing legislators but it would not be as easy as who would be dined ticket would harm the official candidate. (IPA Service)

LUCKNOW: BJP is trying very hard to convince the people in Uttar Pradesh that it would not again support BSP if it emerges as single largest party in 2012 assembly polls. The biggest problem with BJP is the public perception that it would again support Mayawati to become chief minister if she was short of number.
