Belarus has been accorded the 'partner country' status, while South Africa is the 'focus country' at the fair. The two week annual event is expected to see participation of 6,000 exhibitors showcasing a wide variety of products.
In his inaugural address the President said that skill development was an integral part of nation building.
He also noted that the exports of India have seen significant increase as compared to the last decade.
The theme of this year IITF is 'Skilling India', projecting the performance of the Central government and state ministries, departments and private sector in the related fields.
The Belarus Prime Minister had a meeting with the three apex Indian industry bodies – Assocham, FICCI and CII. He also had a meeting with the pharmaceutical industry.
This time entry ticket rates have been increased by Rs 10 at Rs 50 for adults and at Rs 30 for children on weekdays.
On weekends, the tickets for adults would be priced at Rs 80 and for children at Rs 50.
The first five days of the fair would be reserved for business and trade visitors.
It will be open for the general public from November 19 to 27.
