The draft has been proposed by the Chinese to which India has suggested certain changes.

With a view to increase its engagement with India, China has sought to expand its economic and trade relations.

The new Chinese Premier Li Keqiang will be on a four-day visit to India from Sunday at the invitation of the Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh. This will be Li’s first maiden visit abroad since he took over as the Chinese Premier.

According to the schedule the Chinese Premier’s visit is broadly divided into two categories. While New Delhi will be the place for political engagement, the venue for business cooperation will be Mumbai.

On Monday, after being accorded a ceremonial reception at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, Li will meet the Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh for the delegation level talks. Some agreements between the two countries are likely to be signed after the delegation level talks.

“Everything will be on the table for discussions when the two prime ministers meet,” said the Spokesperson of the Indian External Affairs Ministry, Syed Akbaruddin.

The Vice President of India, M Hamid Ansari, Indian External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid, Leader of the Opposition Sushma Swaraj, ruling UPA coalition chairperson Sonia Gandhi will call upon Li.

On Tuesday, the Chinese Premier will address university students at a function organized by the Indian Council of World Affairs. Later in the day he will call upon the President of India Pranab Mukherjee before emplaning for Mumbai.

At Mumbai he will pay a visit to the office of the Tata Consultancy Services, meet relatives of Dr Kotnis and address a business summit jointly organized by three apex Indian industry bodies – Assocham, FICCI and CII. Some business agreements are likely to be signed on the occasion.

The Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Prithviraj Chavan will call upon the visiting Chinese Premier.
