Both the ministers discussed a range of issues of mutual interest concerning bilateral defence cooperation and also shared views on security issues. Both sides reaffirmed their desire to further enhance bilateral defence cooperation in areas of interest such as training, UN Peacekeeping and defence industry cooperation. Both side also agreed to take steps to enhance cooperation between the Armed Forces of both countries.

During this visit which began from September 11, the Kyrgyz Defence Minister visited various defence establishments in Delhi. He would also visit Agra. He will be in India till September 15.

Khurshid is on an official visit to Kyrgyz Republic and Uzbekistan from September 12-15.

In Bishkek, he will attend the 13th Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Heads of State Summit on September 13. India has been an Observer at the SCO since 2005 and has generally been participating at the Ministerial level at these Summits. The External Affairs Minister is also expected to meet bilaterally with dignitaries from other participating states on the margins of the Summit.

During his visit to Uzbekistan, the External Affairs Minister shall hold bilateral discussions with the Uzbek Foreign Minister and also chair a conference of Indian Head of Missions in the region.
